Teknika started in the Ukraine in 1988 with the beginning of private ownership in the Soviet Union. It began focusing on the packaging industry and later that year patented its first tool, the MUL-2, the predecessor of a Line of sealless strapping tools that are now put to at thousands of businesses around the world.

In 1994, Teknika moved its head office to the US and incorporated in San Jose, California as Teknika USA, INC. Working very close and getting instant feedback from strapping distributors and end users, Teknika engineers developed a new generation of strapping tools designed precisely to address
The needs of the US and Western European markets.

The major step in the Teknika Group's development was taken with the acquisitions of a 30,000 sq. Ft. Manufacturing facility in 2002 and a larger,40,000+ sq. Ft. Facility in 2003. Both factories are located in the Ukraine and equipped for manufacturing strapping tools, strapping seals, corner protectors, PP strapping, PVC stretch and shrink packaging films as well as other products and services for the packaging industry. The completion of new facilities has enabled Teknika to improve quality control and to increase production to keep up with the rising demand for its tools and other packaging items.
